• Newkirk traveled with the circus.  He roomed with the "Amazing Bloomingtons," George and Freddie.    (from episode #91, "Monkey Business"   1968)

• Newkirk's girlfriend's name was Rita Nottington.  She was blond, 36-24-36.    (from episode #131, "Is There a Traitor in the House" 1969)

• Newkirk stated in episode #5, "The Flight of the Valkyrie" (1965), that his mother was more Welsh than English.

• Newkirk showed off his skill of knife throwing in episode #24, "How to Cook a German Goose by Radar"  (1966).

• It was stated in episode #39, "Hogan Springs" (1966) that Newkirk loved brown bread.

• Newkirk hinted that his mother may have died when he said "she was a beautiful dancer right up till the end."  (From episode #55 "Everyone Has a Brother-in-Law"  1967) 

• In episode #81, "Hogan, Go Home" (1968), the contents of the laundry hamper in the prisoners' barracks is burned when Colonel Crittendon thinks it is a trash basket and tries to burn secret papers in it.  After the fire is extinguished, Newkirk says "every piece of clothing I owned was in that basket."
